Backcountry's Wilderness Lodges are unexpectedly sumptuous. Backcountry features 6 luxury lodges and 6 primitive campsites. Nestled in the foothills of White Top and Iron Mountains, Backcountry blends 19th Century safari and Appalachia with modern comforts like queen size beds covered in linens, duvets, pillows, a full bathroom with hot running water, and of course electricity. 6 primitive tent campsite are new for 2006 along with the BOMA Pavilion to facilitate your group activities. Biking, hiking and birding are available on site or in the adjoining Jefferson National Forest. |

Raven Ridge is the Gateway to the Great Channels of Virginia! Located on the top of Clinch Mountain at elevations of above 3600ft., Raven Ridge has views of 5 states. Raven Ridge offers 2 luxury cabins: The Whippoorwill Lodge is a 2 story cabin with 2 queen-size beds and an outdoor hot tub. Tanager House is a bungalow with 1 queen-size bed. Both come with, luxury linens, fully equipped kitchens and covered decks. We also have and 7 primitive campsites with picnic tables, stone fireplaces and all the split fire wood you can burn. For your convenience we have a bathhouse with hot showers, wonderful deep well water and the Hummingbird Cafe with a covered deck and tables located close to all campsites. We offer a B&B option for all guests @ $10 per person or custom designed banquets. Enjoy hiking one of our many wildlife trails, including The Great Channels of Virginia or arrange for guided tours of Raven Ridge Native Herb and Plant and Mushroom Farm.
